How Valrico families can choose the right dance class, plan how many classes a week make sense, and budget for one dancer or several.

Dance classes close to home for Valrico families
Valrico families are busy. Between school pickup, homework, church and sports, the best dance classes in Valrico, FL are the ones that fit the week without adding stress.
Dance Quest International is right next door at 853 Lithia Pinecrest Rd in Brandon, serving Valrico, Bloomingdale, Brandon, FishHawk and Riverview families. Since 1995 we have trained dancers across Central Florida, and our Brandon studio has been a home base for east Hillsborough families since 2011.
How many dance classes a week should my child take?
There is no single right answer, but these guidelines help most families:
Ages 2–6: one class a week
Young dancers learn best through short, joyful, consistent classes. One weekly Combo class (two styles in one class) gives them variety without overload.
Ages 7–12: one to three classes a week
This is when many dancers discover a favorite style. A common path is ballet for foundations plus one style they love, such as jazz, tap, hip hop or acro.
Teens: as many as their goals require
Teens who want to advance usually take several classes a week, often including ballet technique. Teens dancing for fitness and fun can thrive with one or two.
A good rule: start smaller than you think, and add classes when your dancer asks for more.
What dance classes cost in Valrico
Dance Quest publishes tuition on the Tuition page so you can plan before you enroll:
Registration: $35 per dancer per year, or $65 for a family with two or more siblings.
One class a week: $80 per month for one dancer, or $160 per month for two siblings each taking one class.
More classes: two weekly classes are $155 per month and three are $225 per month for one dancer, so each added class costs less.
Advanced ballet: Ballet levels 3–4 are $155 per month and levels 5–6 are $290 per month.
Tuition is spread over 10 monthly payments across the season. Our dance class cost guide goes deeper on what to budget, including costumes and Showcase.
Tips for families with more than one dancer
Use family registration. The $65 family registration covers two or more siblings, instead of $35 each.
Stack classes on the same afternoon. When siblings dance back-to-back or at the same time, you make one trip instead of two. Our front desk can help you find class times that line up.
Let each child choose. Siblings do not need the same style. One may love the structure of ballet while another lights up in hip hop.
Dance styles for every Valrico dancer
Combo classes (ages 2–6) pair two styles in one structured class — Ballet/Tap, Ballet/Jazz or Acro/Jazz — plus Tutu 2’s & 3’s for the littlest movers.
Ballet builds posture, alignment, strength and the vocabulary every other style draws on. Jazz adds energy and performance quality. Tap builds rhythm and timing. Acro develops strength, flexibility and controlled tricks.
Older dancers can add Hip Hop (6+), Contemporary (6+), Musical Theatre (9+) and Pointe for qualified ballet students. Harmony is our class for dancers of all abilities, ages 6 and up, on Fridays at 6:30 PM. See every style on the Programs page.
Dance at Valrico schools
Dance Quest also teaches weekly on-campus classes at partner preschools, private schools and childcare centers across Valrico, Brandon, FishHawk and Plant City. Your child dances with friends, and you skip the extra drive. See the Partner Sites page to find participating schools.
